Fox can't own the rights to an interpretation of a real event, nor can they claim ownership of an 'original' idea based upon that interpretation.

That said, whoever signed off the budget for Titanic II should have gone down with the ship. Aside from anything else, it's unlikely that a mid-ocean tsunami would affect them.

In deep water, tsunami waves travel fast but are generally not very high, however they may have a huge wavelength. As they hit shallower water, the front of the wave slows, causing the rear to crash into the back and pile over the top, creating the destructive taller waves seen in Japan and the Indian ocean.

Even iTunes 99p rental sounds expensive for this dreck.

These will bring back memories. Fun for all the family, seeing loads of people in 1970's fashions or with stiff upper lips plunging to their deaths or drowning. Great fun!

The Poseidon Adventure:

A Night To Remember (Great film}

The Last Voyage/ this looks like a right hoot! I've never seen it, but I will now!

Don't need to see The Last Voyage now, it's all in the trailer. I particularly enjoyed the smoke stack falling in half at the end - along a neatly cut line.
