Do you never notice that your posts are totally contradictory?

For example,

""I am of the opinion that all politician's are basically the same."

and

"the transport system is fucking rubbish, Nationalise it, along with the utilities, this is the system I would prefer,"

The Tories were and are totally against the nationalisation of the utilities. The Labour party was totally against the privatisation of the utilities and the railway system at the time pointing out at the time that the sell-off of the utilities would be a licence to print money.

They were not in the position to nationalise the utilities 20 years later because it would have needed an absolutely colossal cost given the way the value of the utility companies, which has gone through the roof, has risen in those 20+ years.

Is this not an example of how "all politicians are NOT the same"?

As usual you only read what you wan't to read, and interpret it your own way-the Nu-Labour way. I said all politician's are the same, I didn't say all politician's are the same as they were 20yrs ago, I am talking about now, there's now't between them anymore.
I am well aware of who privatised the utilities and the transport network, read my post again, I am against privatisation, I always have been, even though I have never use public transport, also I was never a fan of the Thatcher creature for that very reason, well that and her patronising demeana

"Do you never notice that your posts are totally contradictory? No, never.

"They were not in the position to nationalise the utilities 20 years later because it would have needed an absolutely colossal cost given the way the value of the utility companies, which has gone through the roof, has risen in those 20+ years."

Not sure that's correct, yes it would have been expensive, but it requires more than money, it requires the will to do it as well, tell me what you think the cost would be, compared to say the cost of the Iraq war, bailing the banks out, the Olympics, wasting billions on failed IT systems, creating dipshit quango's etc etc, nah, they are all the same David.

The nitty gritty

Post by David Johnson »

"I am talking about now, there's now't between them anymore."

You can only judge a party by what they do when they are in power.

In government, Labour introduced the minimum wage, the winter fuel allowance, the disability discrimination act, a ban on cluster bombs, increase in maternity pay, paternity pay, civil partnerships, Surestart, increased child benefit, brought in the social chapter, huge real term increases in spending on the NHS, school buildings etc etc.

Are you seriously telling me that you can see George Osborne and David Cameron or any Tory party doing that? If so, what evidence have you got e.g. measures introduced, manifesto commitments etc etc.

No, I thought not.

Re: Lizard- Resistance is futile!

Attempting to hold a reasoned arguement with David is futile. David (Bless him) is a "Political Party Fundamentalist". He has the same starry eyed view of his New Labour deities, as a member of the Hitler Youth would have had of Hitler, the devout Muslim of Allah or the Zionist believing he is Chosen. All will be prepared to die of kill opponents in order to blindly serve the orders of their masters!

Ruling politicians and religious leaders rely on the "David's" of the World to do their bidding without question. It is the "Davids" of the World that keep us in a constant state of war. Imagine if Israel and Palestine were ruled by reasonable people, you know like you and I. We'd have sorted out a solution within a week and everyone would be happy. This is because reasonable people understand the concept of allowing others to, "Beg to differ" or simply disagree. They understand and generally apply, the concept of, "Compromise".

The Fundamentalist must brutally crush all dissent or disagreement. You know what one David is like to deal with, now imagine a thousand Davids on the march and you have this nightmare!!!

Could this be how New Labour activists will look in some future New Labour regime???!happy!

Ranting Jimslip

Post by David Johnson »

Any facts in there amongst the rant?

No, I thought not. More waste of typing effort from Jimbo.

Poor Jimbo, still doesn't know the difference between opinion and evidence.
Still can't answer anybody who questions info to back his opinions.

So no point in my responding.

Jimbo - a special ranting prize for you

Post by David Johnson »

Jimbo,

Given you are one of the people who often rant on about New Labour being to blame for everything, particularly the economy, can I just congratulate you on providing the link including a graph which shows that the debt as a proportion of GDP was less under Labour in 2007 before the global recession than the majority of the years under the Tory governments of 1979 to 1997?

I think your step in providing a link to prove that you have been talking nonsense in many of your posts on Labour and the economy, is a very noble one and for which you should get thanks from forumites.

Can I look forward to you providing a link to prove you are talking nonsense about policing under Tory as opposed to Labour governments?

Go to it, Jimbo!

!wink!
