Re: Difficult question

The principle of the so called, "Reasonable man" is already enshrined in English Law it requires of citizens conduct no better than that considered
reasonable by the ordinary person. It ignores matters of Left & Right and politics. It is simply a matter of what is right or wrong, not of class.
In the 1930s a wise Law Lord (Lord Macmillan)
put it this way:
?In the daily contacts of social and business life human beings are thrown into, or place themselves in, an infinite variety of relations with their fellows; and the law can refer can only to the standards of the reasonable man!"

Things have moved on alot since the 1930's, when a "reasonable man" was one who wore a shirt and tie at dinner and smoked a pipe. eg

To enforce the principles of the "Reasonable man" would require a new paramilitary armed Police Force, who would enforce the principles of the above, with an iron fist,

Maybe a "Neighbour from Hell" being whisked away?

Whenever their is a shortage of jobs and money their will always be discontent among the people as they try to blame it on someone else for their woes.

Im getting darned tired of this New Labour being responsible as an excuse for th epresent administrations follies. This excuse has been used for years so that parties can get out of fulfilling their promises and mandates.

I notice the banks are still getting their bonuses. Whats that got to do with Noo Labour? Theyre not in power right now.

Theyre all as shit as each other really arent they? Come on. Admit it

It's the nature of the beast Tel, best bet is to realise that nearly all Politician's are part of a game, the game doesn't really include you are I, nor anyone else, the games called 'staying in power, and shafting the opposition at every opportunity, it's a game of chess really.
Best advice make your own mind up about issues that really affect you, ask your MP if he/she agrees with you, if they say yes, hold them to it, if they let you down, call them a lying spineless sack of shit. oh, and Always work for yourself wherever possible, just enjoy your life, friends etc.
I am not clever enough to think of a better system, that's not to say there isn't one, but I can't see it changing anytime soon, In another four yrs, my thought were another Labour Government, now I'm not so sure, I think we will have another co-alition, then another then another, then.......

Worryingly, I fear that even we, the God fearing, simple folk of porn, could be considered to be behaving in an "Unreasonable" manner, by some in the Rational Socialist Party!

"Ahhhhh they borrowed it, got it and now everybody has to pay it back"

Not the most detailed analysis I've ever come across.

Re: What would you do with this guy?

Post by jimslip »

Just hypothetically, in a society like the one I have proposed, where the act of being reasonable is brutally enforced, what punishment would the good and righteous folk of the BGAFD forum, mete on this individual? Would it be any more severe than had he just mugged her when she was walking along the street. What is more "Unreasonable?". Remember the RSP allows YOU the jury to decide the punishment ANY punishment you feel appropriate!

This thread has the title the rise of fascism in the UK so in answer to the direct question will it happen the answer is NO.

People seem to forget that Griffin & Co were supposed to be the nice face of twats. They failed and anyone with the same agenda will also be rightly fucked off.

Ditching the bald head and bomber jacket but still being a brain dead fuckwit would soon be spotted and, apart from the Neanderthals who vote for the arsewipes, would be rejected.

In answer to is there a gap between the Political Elite and Joe-public? Yes it does exist, yes it is huge and yes it is growing and the solution to that is for Joe-public to get involved in politics.

Could there be a new party that says what it says?

Yes but it will need people involved with it and as most of the 'policies' in the post exist (for crime look at your Community safety Strategy) you would be better joining one that already exists and change it from within.

Hard at the moment but if enough people have the same mindset it could be achieved.

I have come to this debate rather late but, just to add my five pence
worth, I think a credible British fascist party is always possible but,
due to Herr Hitler and also the BNP, they would have to be everrr sooo
subtle.....
To be successful, as things stand, it would need to be a long-term 10-15
year slow strategy....not that it is impossible....
But parties of right or left extremes are usually successful only if a country
is in turmoil - Russia in 1917, Germany in 1931 etc - so IF things went
badly arse-up in the UK thats when a fascist or nationalist party would
make a killing (and lets face it, thats exactly what the BNP pray for).
And then, Jim, there is the all important charismatic leader !!! Where the
hell is there such a figure in British politics today ???
The last time the Brits tried this they came up with Oswald Mosley. Have
you ever looked at a photo of Sir Oz in his prime ? Looks like a loon !!!
