Jim Slip`s greedy bankers

I notice my colleague, Mr Slip, often rants about greedy bankers....and
right he is too !
Drawing a veil over the recent arrest of Mr Strauss-Kahn, the International
Monetary Fund chief on charges of attempted rape in New York (he may
be innocent), I was more interested to see that his suite at the Sofitel
cost ?1,850 (yes, thats pounds not dollars) a night !! And, of course, he
was arrested in First Class on a flight bound for Paris.
Not for this banker Club class (I will allow him that, maybe he wants to
work peacefully on the plane) but the ?3000+ of First. Ok, ok, he is a hard
working banker ! But a ?1,850 a night suite !!!
And this, trust me, is how bankers the world over expect to spend what,
in effect, we give them !!

Can you imagine a situation over here, where having received a complaint from a mere chambermaid that she was assaulted by a billionaire banker, that banker would be removed from an aircraft and taken for questioning by the police?

Furthermore, can you imagine that in spite of the best efforts of his slimy lawyers to get him bail, the judge refused the sum of $1,000,000 being posted, because she felt he would, "Take flight?"

He would have got off scott free over here.

David, what on Earth has the above astute analogy got to do with George Osbourne or the Tories? THEY WERE NOT IN POWER AT THE TIME!
