I'd also recommend that you use the Firefox browser with the Adblock Plus addon, I rarely see ads on site with this combination.

Is it any wonder that the monkey's confused?

I use BitDefender which I find is better than McAfee.

For the really persistent pop-unders like live jasmin try

firefox add-ons like ghostery(read the fine print before agreeing - its new owners intentions are dubious at best) & redirector

DETECT
Ghostery sees the "invisible" web, detecting trackers, web bugs, pixels, and beacons placed on web pages by Facebook, Google Analytics, and over 400 other ad networks, behavioral data providers, web publishers - all companies interested in your activity.

last resort if your still having issues is fiddling with the cookies so they dont expire with an addon like this

Firefox add-on called "Add N Edit Cookies 0.2.1.0" Please note, there is a bug with this version: if you don't have "accept third party cookies" enabled in your Firefox options, it will not save your changes. I'm told an earlier version doesn't have this bug, but I didn't try it, since ticking the third party box solved the problem.
