A little reminder, Jimbo
"David, must it not trouble you that in spite of your incessant rabble rousing against the Coalition, other than your few acolytes, you are unable to gain any tangible support for your views?"
This from the man, who went screaming to another forum, complaining about how people on this forum disagreed with him. Then followed it up by begging people to come and support him on the BGAFD forum.
Jim, why do you keep on humiliating yourself?
!wink!
Cheers

Re: Comrade Johnson!
As usual, you turn to condescending insults and abuse.
If I and others thought for one second that any of your posts weren't pre-loaded in some way to "Have a go" at the Coalition, people would be bothered to argue with you. Your thread starter, if posted by anyone apart from yourself, would be worthy of both discussion and agreement.
Sadly however, as soon as you post such a thread, it becomes as worthless as a Soviet patriotic slogan, yelled down a PA system, by a Party Member, at a bunch of disgruntled workers in a failing tractor factory during Stalin's time.
You do not want discussion, you just want tacit agreement, with your narrow, blinkered views. You must long for a day when dissenters like me can be simply, "Removed". Those days are gone now David, you were born in the wrong place and time.
Moscow 1935 was your time, but fate has dealt you an awful hand, because now you have to allow others to have a view or opinion other than your own! You can't simply make them disappear!
Your hero would have sympathised with you!

Just another little reminder Jimbo

The above hardly explains why when Ravis, Sam Slater, Bob Singleton, Andy etc etc. have the temerity to disagree with you, you rarely if ever have the courtesy to reply to them. Does it?
I repeat, Jimbo. Why do you keep on humiliating yoursef?
Cheers

Re: Sam
I'll rephrase it then.
Taking the circumstances into account, do you think the best option of Libyans is to let Gaddafi retake control of the country?

Re: David, "You need to try and think clearly!"
British troops would have been first in if Nu Labor was still in power so thank fuck we are showing some moderation. Ask the good citizens of Iraq, who now suffer power cuts, unemployment, poor medical care and foreigners running their country of what they think of the previous British government. BTW in case you leftys forgot Blair went to a hideously expensive public school, as did Darling and a fair chunk of the opposition. Dennis Skinner must feel very alone amongst his so called Labor colleagues.

Arginald
This thread is about David Cameron and Libya not about what Thatcher, Clem Attlee, John Major, Tony Blair would have done.
As you know I have already described Tony Blair as a war criminal.
Why do you and Jimslip find it impossible to criticise what David Cameron does, but instead can only harp on and on about the previous government rather than this one?
I suspect in the case of Jim Slip it is because he is a dyed in the wool Tory Boy but just cant bring himself to admit it.
Its as if I lived in Germany in 1939 and criticised Hitler, you and Jimslip would post going on about how bad the previous German government was.
It's good for a laugh, but can't be taken seriously.
Cheers

Re: Sam
It was more a strong implication than a concrete answer.
Can you remember when the allies rained leaflets down on the Kurds and Marsh Arabs telling them to help us defeat Saddam after his invasion of Kuwait? A good number did and then we stopped at the border.
Saddam rounded up all of them (without trial) tortured and killed them, and their families. I wouldn't like us to sit back and watch yet another dictatorial madman get his revenge on whomever he thought plotted against him.
If the UN are only an obstacle in the way of ridding the country of this henchman then we must remove it.

"Can you remember when the allies rained leaflets down on the Kurds and Marsh Arabs telling them to help us defeat Saddam after his invasion of Kuwait? A good number did and then we stopped at the border".
Yes.
Can you remember the Americans' use of uranium tipped munitions in Fallujah and cluster bombs? Do you remember the deaths of hundreds and thousands of Iraqis as "collateral" damage? Were you equally gungho about arming the Muhajeddin and training them so they could fight the Ruskis in Afghanistan in order, no doubt, to defend "civilians" from the cruel Ruskis? Do you remember how wonderfully well that ploy worked out?
Is there an equation somewhere that says 1 Kurd killed after the 1st Gulf War is worth 10 Kurds/Sunnis/Shias killed in the 2nd Gulf War and therefore the 2nd Iraqi war is justified?
"If the UN are only an obstacle in the way of ridding the country of this henchman then we must remove it."
There are many obstacles apart from the UN. I have yet to come across a country that is prepared to put forward troops to invade Libya.
It's a mess and this was perfectly predictable on the first day of the no fly operation.
I will leave you to the gungho talk of "removing obstacles". Those who dont do the fighting tend to be more gungho than those who risk getting killed, aren't they?
