Harriet my husband and I earn over ?200k a year from being MPs and live in a big fuck off house in an upmarket part of London but we are really werking clarse. Get real DJ. There is no difference between the current crop of MPs, all in it for the money and most had plenty before becoming MPs.

There was no difference between Thatcher and what she did and what the Labour government did? There is no difference between what the Lib Dem Cons are doing and what the Labour government did in terms of legislation?
You would be struggling to support that argument I suspect, but have a go!
My post is not about MPs having money it is about the hypocrisy of someone who is very wealthy, going on about improving social mobility whilst bringing in at the same time, as Harman points out, a series of measures that do the opposite.

Utter bullshit from Arginald, go and look up Dennis Skinner,former miner who lives on a basic salary of an MP and nothing more,and would probably take a 10k a year pay cut willingly. Not all MP's are greedy bastards,some want to do the best by people.

Spot on re the Beast of Bolsover. One of very few dedicated MPs in the House.
The vast majority of MPs, of ALL parties, are there for their own self esteem and what they can get out of it.
One major problem I think is that too many of the duplicitous bastards are lawyers. A more self centered, out of touch with reallity, bunch of hypocrites you would be hard pushed to meet.
