The banality of murder

Post by David Johnson »

This is a bit of an aside to the thread subject but what really gets me about this bloke Halliwell is the timing thing.

The detective leading the investigation gave a press conference where he said that Halliwell had told him that he had murdered someone and buried her sometime between 2003 and 2005. He couldn't remember the date or year but he could remember the location.

He couldn't remember the year? Blimey if someone had said, "David can you remember when you had that nasty rash on your legs which took months to clear up" I might say "Oh yeah, I can't remember whether that was 2003 or 2004".

But if I had killed someone, would I be able to remember the year? WTF!

So either this guy was killing a substantial number of people and it just merged into one mess in his mind or..... Or I just can't fathom what is going on his brain which makes the event so innocuous that he can't even remember the year.

Cheers

"The death sentance never ever was a deterrent. It was state revenge pure and simple." Extract from Albert Pierrepoints biography on his retirement from the position of No 1 Executioner.

I care not one iota for the bleeding heart liberals and the PC brigade. I am all for state revenge. My statement.
