More likely he meant ?20.00 not ?2000.00 as the "Buy It" price, so a mistake, not a joke.
I was at a Rod Stewart fan club do in Walsall at the weekend (shooting pictures of 2Faced, a Faces cover band put together by some friends... Matt Pearce of Voodoo Six, Jim Stapeley and others) and they were auctioning some of Rod's suits for a kid's charity (all had letters of provenance) and I was surprised at how little they went for (between ?250 and ?320) and a Platinum disc of the "Blondes Have More Fun" LP donated by Gary Grainger (who co-wrote many of the songs) only went for ?280. I'm talking about a REAL one, as presented to the band, not one of the thousand or so copies you see advertised on ebay using a gold painted CD

I have a hate hate for Sir fucking Cliff.
When he started out the girls were more interested in listening to his smarmy voice than getting down to doing the business in the bike shed behind the Youth Club me and my mates used to attend. We had to wait until the close before we could cop a feel. Bastard!!
