If greater evidence were required as to the parlous state of our so-called 'open' democracy and the ludicrousness of the libel laws I dont think you could do better than the super injunction Fred 'the Shred' Goodwin (he who brought down RBS) obtained earlier in the week to prevent the media referring to him as a 'banker'. Until the matter was raised under parliamentary privilege today it would have been illegal for me to have told you that there was even an injunction in place and to give a link to the story on the web.
