Makes one wonder why not.
The yanks can't be worried about the canal as it is too narrow to get their carriers through, and if they can't use it then fuck everyone else.
Try anything in Panama and see the selfish up their own arses bastards react.

The Americans are twats constantly meddling in parts of the World they
know so precious little about....Laos, Vietnam, Somalia, the list is endless.
God help us all when Mubarek goes....he has been a tough ruler, no
doubt corrupt up to a point, but nevertheless encouraging Western
ideas in his country and a friend to their governments.....if there is an
Islamist ie fundamentalist victory there it will the fulcrum of a vast amount
of more terroist attacks....
And always remember - and tremble my friends - the mastermind of Al
Quaeda is not Osama bin Laden but his supposed No 2, who now
dominates the organization - El Zawahiri (sorry for my spelling) - and he
is an Egyptian whose pronounced obsession is the destruction of
secular Egypt, a country that took away his citizenship (and tortured
him and his family).

I don't know about being too narrow. I was on a VLCC which managed to get through as a test.

One thing's for sure. If the Yanks invade, "our brave boys" will be expected to be fighting shoulder to shoulder with them because we are America's best friend / poodle.

And when we go in shoulder to shoulder, anyone want to take any bets on what the cause of most UK forces deaths will be, the enermy or US "friendly fire"?
