Both Gray and Keys were goods at there Job in the end the viewers suffers. And as for women linesman i better bite my lip.

I'm not claiming it should be applauded.

Just that sacking him was way over the top. He's on a high salary, fine him. Take him off a few games, renegotiate his contract and offer him a smaller wage? Whatever, but to sack him for remarks made off air?

I don't understand what problem people have with female linesmen.

Yes, if you pick a random male and a random female from the population chances are that the male will understand the offside rule better most of the time - or indeed being at all interested in football in the first place.

But female linesmen are not random members of the public. Before anyone reaches the level where they are put into the position of linesman at a Premiership game they would have undergone some scrutiny, regarding their fitness levels, their understanding of the rules, and they would have first prove their mettle at lower levels of the game.
