I am aware that not all soldiers are perfect. I wasn't. I drank too much , I fucked anything in a skirt that moved and lifted anything with an arrow on that wasn't nailed down.
I would ask you all to be aware that throughout its long history the British Army has fought with distinction and honour on behalf of the nation in the defence of the realm and its members have upheld some very fine traditions.
Of course there are bad eggs in every service, but I would like to think that our army has served the nation well and even though there have been some exceptions over the ages we are still regarded by other nations as the best that they would like to emulate. It says something for our system that the majority of the free world send their young men and women of their armed forces to be trained at Sandhurst Royal Military Academy.
My brothers were proud to have served. I was proud to have served and am proud that my son is serving, and I hope that my grandson will serve also.
My apologies to the pacifists but that's it.
Piers fucking Morgan

He still believes that the pictures were genuine - or at least a depiction of an event that happened.
The vast majority of Americans would not believe that US service personnel would abuse foreign prisoners at Abu Ghraib but they did. Piers Morgan's view is/was that would it be so unlikely that only American soldiers carried on in that way. Did no British soldiers do the same?
This is in no way an attack on you, your son, or former colleagues - just putting PM's view since I don't think he visits here too often.
I have the utmost respect for you, your son, and your former colleagues for all you have done (and in your son's case continue to do). The vast majority of people (including me and i suspect most visitors to this board) could never do it. It also slightly annoys me when people have a pop at James Blunt - whether you like his music or not, he served his country and for that alone should be allowed a measure of respect.

Couldn't give a shit about the photos, Rodders fucking UK. He hit the bottom, started to climb back up and is now way higher up there than he was before. Good on him. He's a very clever interviewer.
