In a country where the media had dictated that "public enemy number one" is Gary Glitter (and seriously, even Chris Morris couldn't have dreamed that one up!) what will the media make of this breaking news?

As the report says, basically in order to win over Afghan locals, American contractor DynCorp bankrolled 'bacha bazi' parties -- the culturally accepted practice of paedophilia by men against boys.
If this scandal does not become headline news then we will know just how corrupt the media are (and it will explain a whole lot more).

They're locking them up today, they're throwing away the key...I wonder who it be tomorrow, you or me?

Re: Americans bankrolling Afghan paedophilia
The whole issue of private company/contractor involvement in both Iraq and Afghanistan has largely been one of corruption and worse, including the covering up of murder. It has regularly been reported over the years, with only half-hearted interference by the US and other governments. This example is just another facet of the shady side of greasing the wheels of free enterprise.

The arms trade always has been the nastiest business in the world. Mate's dad worked in the middle east for several UK weapons makers and corruption was the norm way of doing business. The freebies that went around were awe inspiring....free villas in Spain packed with finest women, food and drink were common with the costs simply added onto the deal. He had a nice selection fo Rolex watches that were FOC. He happened to admire one on a customers wrist and was given some the next time he visited the same bloke. Filthy business and unfortunately one of our largest exports....
