I agree. But it's just as simplistic to say pensioners can't live on what they get.

The reality is that some can and some can't, depending on circumstances and lifestyle expectancy which is why I mentioned 'quality' of life (which is subjective).

Thought you weren't coming back until after the holidays? Not as swift an about-turn as Porn Historian -twice- when he said he was leaving the forums forever-and-even-amen, and came back within 24 hours. He backtracked so fast he must have gotten whiplash !laugh!

Quite Samuel. Therefore best not to state "Having said all that, I agree with you in that the elderly can live on what they get. " as you did.

You will only encourage PH you know, which judging from his reply to your post, has been the unfortunate result.

Merry Xmas

Good point. I didn't mean it to be taken so literally. It is PH after all.

But I'm not the one whinging about money... You are.
I keep referring to people being judged by much more than money....

...wait a minute I think I understand... you assume that anyone not solely preoccupied with how great they are due entirely to money must be both poor and unhappy about it.
Therefore because I'm NOT complaining about the poor and NOT saying that poor people are utterly worthless I must therefore be poor and worthless too.

What a small world you live in.
One where you can only see your side of any issue and can't see anything else no matter how hard you look.

I feel genuinely sad for you.

EH?
Since your original question is an OPEN one it doesn't lend itself to a "yes - no" answer!

What do other forumites think?"

Try to be a little more clear in future...

Hey Rodders...
We tried that motif on him already.
He struggles with 'thought.'

It's better to agree with him... in the same way one might agree with a mentally ill child that the moon is indeed made of cheese - simply because the real answer is beyond them.

Pretty much everything appears to be beyond this person.
Logic, common-sense, civility, decency, morals, education, self-effacement, love of anything but wealth and personal aggrandizement... I could go on.
