Keep taking the tablets(or netbooks)

Our aged laptop is showing its age,and of course, a busy porn production house has to be in contact at all times! What do guys reckon is the best for www.rockcharogne.com's mobile comunications (email and internet) and entertainment(we need to be able to watch our own dvds!) suite - ipad/tablet or netbook ? Any recommendations ? Of course we are also looking to spend nothing for top of the range......!

iPad, as long as you don't need flash for anything. Although you won't be able to play dvds directly, you'll need to rip them first.

Netbook sales have fallen through the floor since the iPad launched, and all the copycat devices joined in.

I wouldn't bother with an iPad. No flash means it's crippled as an everyday browsing tool. Many film trailers and porn clips are in flash, as are games and menus in sites. My sister was thinking of getting an iPad for her 8 year old daughter, for xmas, but luckily she asked me about it before forking out her hard-earned money. My niece spends a lot of time on the bbc 'cbeebies' site and all the games and learning stuff is in flash. Not good.

If you want a tablet with flash look for the Galaxy Tab. Want something cheaper look for the Advent Vega. Of course, no dvd playback but you can rip them and then play them on the device.

If you really need a dvd player installed you'll need a cheap laptop.

Get a macbook. Fantastic little blighters, ideal for video work, no viruses, you can have parallels to run Windows on if you have to have a PC and it will run right alongside the Mac OS with no problem.

pop into your local Mac shop and have a play. Ask them to demo Parallels and you'll fall in lust.
