Exactly.

I'm gratified that so many people [at least here] seem to care.
One gets frustrated ocacsionally, and then thinks a violent answer
is the solution. But when rationality kicks in again after the 'red
mist', one realises it never is.
Slow, slow progress... the best we can hope for- and no more
body-bags.

The IRA loving twatt Ken Livingstone once said that if voting achieved anything it would be banned.
We get the idiots we get because we are too lazy to attend selection meetings to make our voices heard, so we get what the local party selection committee want. At the last General Election we in Hove and Portslade got a splitarse parachuted in. Someone not really wanted by the Labour voters as there was a decent local Labour candidate, but he was a bloke. So, Tony Bliars' wish for more wimmin won the day. Unfortunately with only a set of idiots to choose from Celia sodding Barlow won the election. However, her 400 something majority is fuckall and next year she will be sent packing back to Dorset, or somewhere down that way, where she should have fucking well stayed, and good fucking riddance to her.

How many genuine working class people have voted for all the ex-Etonians in New Labour?

All the main political parties have more than their fair share of 'toffs'.
