Jared Diamond! What a peculiar name is it actually his real name?

Thank you Bob Singleton,
What you describe is very similar to what I have seen: objects in space that travel up down or sideways at incredible speeds and this seems to be a widely observed phenomenon of those who watch the heavens.

If you think its a peculiar name then so be it. In 1966 he became Professor of Physiology at UCLA med School, and latterly is Professor of Geography and Environmental Health Sciences also at UCLA. Over the years he has made many important contributions to ecology and environmental biology as well as exploring remoter parts of New Guinea. In addition to the book I mentioned, I can recommend 'Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Survive.'
Both are written in a very accessable style and manage to inform, delight, educate and warn in equal measure. If you have the slightest interest in the history of society, anthropology, or how we came to be the human beings we are, get reading. And he doesn't make a single mention of outside ( eg little green men) influences affecting our development in any way whatsoever.

Steven Pinker goes into evolutionary psychology as well and I've found that he comes across quite well in the lectures I've seen him speak (though not read any of his books yet, but I'm planning to).

I've enjoyed a couple of Pinker's books over the years but I dont find him as accessible as Diamond.

One man's Diamond is another man's Pinker....an all that !happy!

I think the only thing that's inaccessible (or incomprehensible) is the thought processes of certain individuals round these here parts! !laugh!

Lucifer Sam ,
As SteveR as pointed out we have the sworn statements of many military men and aircraft pilots as to positive sightings of UFOs and unless they are all lying I think that on the balance of probabilities and weighing up all the evidence we must accept their existence.
