Classical Film Themes

Post by Jacques »

There have been some great ones and Mascagni - Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana from Raging Bull, and some memorable ones Wagner - The Ride Of The Valkyries from Apocalypse Now.

Over to you.

Puccinis Madam Butterfly is nice

A lot of people dont know that I actually listen to classical when driving on the motorway...Its awesome!

I'm not to clever on titles mind but I remember Rachmaninov Theme For Paganini (is that right?) being really nice and haunting too.

Then again I really like old time Jazz like Benny Goodman and Duke Ellington too

Toccat and Fugue in D Minor by Bach is one of the first pieces of classical music I was aware of as a 14 year old. It was, of course, the music score from Rollerball, a MUST see as a 14 year old!!

The West London of my youth is now on dvd

Wasn't Clockwork Orange an electronic soundtrack. Beethoven given the Kraftwerk treatment, before Kraftwerk, by Wendy Carlos.

"Freude!"

For pure baroque, try Tout Les matin Du Monde.
