Paedophile?

Post by eroticartist »

Do you think that the prophet Mohammed was a paedophile because he married his child bride when she was six years of age and consummated the marriage when she reached puberty at nine?

Mike no matter what you think there is NO justification for it.

An attempt to use history as some sort of excuse is pathetic.

He would be considered a paedo by modern standards, no doubt. Of course, things were different then, he was a merchant in 7th Century Arabia. Slavery was common, as was polygamy.

The problem with Islam is that the social code of 7th Century Arabia has been frozen as the rule of God as told to Mohammed in a cave, and expressed in the Koran. So basically, if it was good for Mo 1400 years ago, it's still good, and always will be. That's why Islam cannot progress, its central tenet is that what God decreed to Mohammed 1400 years ago is the eternal truth, and the eternal way. If that included slavery, polygamy and child brides, then so be it.

I wonder what would happen if you made a large sign up saying, "MOHAMMED WAS A PAEDOPHILE" and walked up and down the Edgware Road?

It's outside our culture, so don't worry about it. Islam and western norms are incompatible - and eventually we'll sort it out in a war that they will lose.

Not read the Talmud then or know anything about the Abrahamic religious lines then? You see the "west" and "Islam" have the same values. Ask Anglicans how old Mary was, the answer is nine by the way. Isn't that a bit similar to Islam?

The dirty old Anglicans. I just don't trust anyone with a strong belief in religion, although in the pecking order Islam is at the bottom.

Oh don't get me started on this one now too, we all know of the controversy that is associated with the Vatican and its "Cardinal Laws".

The Pope even had to intervene and call in cardinals and top bishops to Rome a few years back and the church has paid out billions for out of court settlements!

Here are just three snippets from the independent -

Cardinal Bernard Law, Archbishop of Boston

Pope John Paul's ideological soulmate in the United States, a conservative who has been at the eye of the storm. Court documents show Cardinal Law and other church officials knew for years about dozens of abuse allegations against John Geoghan, a Boston priest, but transferred him from parish to parish. Church documents have since revealed a similar pattern of denial and cover-up in at least one other case, and 450 sex abuse victims have come forward.

Rembert Weakland, Archbishop of Milwaukee

Considered the most liberal archbishop in the United States, Cardinal Weakland hit the headlines when it emerged that he had covered up the confession of a priest who molested an altar boy in 1979. The priest, William Effinger, was moved from parish to parish over the next 13 years before he was finally defrocked. The revelation surprised many of Cardinal Weakland's supporters, since he has established social programmes for victims of child abuse.

Cardinal Edward Egan, Archbishop of New York

The most visible Catholic leader in the United States, he has largely escaped personal blame but his archdiocese has not. In Long Island, prosecutors have established a grand jury to investigate whether church leaders orchestrated a cover-up. Thirteen years ago, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, a priest impregnated a 15-year-old girl. Cardinal Egan, who was Bishop of Bridgeport at the time, did not notify police and allowed the priest to leave quietly.
