The two away goals were always going to be their downfall as well.

united play very open compared to liverpool and chelsea, very attack minded which if you look at recent winners is the exeption to the rule especially playing away from home, they don't have a roy keane figure this time.

I had a feeling that reinstalling Vidic into such a big game was wrong. I don't think Wes Brown and Vidic have ever partnered eachother in defence all season and it showed. United don't concede 3 goals in 1 match.

Still, I think Man utd went further than I expected in Europe this season when they've concentrated alot more on winning the league. Roma apart, they've not really took their league form into Europe (or any cup competitions) but they still managed an FA cup final place along with a CL semi-final.

It's telling that the 2 teams that rested most of their first team -Liverpool & Milan- at the weekend looked the stronger mid-week.

I think Man Utd fans would have taken an FA cup final place along with winning the league at the beginning of the season so it's not all doom and gloom.

Liverpool can rest players like Milan upto the final now as both are in pretty safe Champions League positions for next year. I think Liverpool will win Milan in Athens and good luck to them.

United were shite, i dont knowe what fuckin ferguson says before to them before the game, what a complete joke. True Milan were good, but that was a nightmare.

To coin a phrase, Man U can concentrate on the league now......

Pity about tonight but you can't win them all.

It was evident in the first leg that Man Utd only got back into the match when Gatusso went off injured, and no one was closing Scholes down.
