For any classical buffs, may I recommend the French film Tout Les Matins Du Monde. The film, starring Depardieu pere et fil, was pretty good, but the music was a real treat.

I found the Last of the Mohicans(1992) riveting listening but its hard to decide wether it was the film or music or a combination of both that made it so

It's a few years since I saw it, and it was 17th/18th century French baroque, so probably a bit difficult to whistle.

"O Fortune from Carmina burana ( Carl Orff)"

Nah, nah, O Fortuna wasn't used in The Omen. Nope, but it was used in Excalibur.

I don't know about The Killing Fields (never seen it), but Adagio For Strings was the bookend music in Platoon.
