ive picked up the forms from the post office but aside from the ?66 for it ive been told another ?3&?6 on top for the cost of returning my birth certificate which is the original and for check and send.

Dunno about the additional charge for the return of your birth certificate .. check small print. It may well apply. I've renewed an old passport most recently and there isn't the same requirement for documentation.

As I remember 'check & send' is an optional service offered by the Post Office. If you're confident about filling forms in you could save yourself a few quid by checking it yourself and ensuring you've got the necessary paperwork and signatures (the photos) etc.

?3 & ?6 are not compulsory but I would recommend both.
Birth Certificate will be returned via special delivery well worth ?3 just to be on the safe side.
The ?6 is a pre read through and check everything is completed correctly and all enclosures are enclosed.
TBH its up to you whether you take that option or not.

Thanks chris &jonone,i really want to go to Paris for a day or two via the eurostar from Waterloo.
