My view is that it is not racist bullying at all, apart from mimicking the accent. They clearly don't like her, but it strikes me more as typical female rivalry and jealousy rather than anything more sinister. Cultural ignorance maybe, but not racist.
The comment about her hands could have applied to anyone by the way. I wouldn't want anyone picking food off my plate with their hands, be they black, white, brown, green or whatever. If the woman had been white, nobody would have said that the comment had any relevance at all. They'd probably be agreeing that some bird picking someone else's grub up with her fingers was a filthy habit.

Like I said above, 'if Shilpa had been imitating a cockney or scouse accent, nothing would be said. We'd probably laugh along. If Shilpa had said English cooking was crap and we're all fat because of McDonalds, we'd all nod in agreement. If Danielle had handled Shilpa's food and Shilpa complained that she hadn't known where Danielle's hands had been, there'd be no problem.
We're all fucking brainwashed into thinking black & ethnic groups can say what they want, and whites are fair game. Basically playing on 'white guilt' to get their own way, or gain an advantage.
It's not hard to work out.

I have to differ Sam. I reckon if it was the other way round it wouldve been just as bad.
BB just mirrors real life and it is a combination of what everyone has said. Racism is a bit harsh a word, I would prefer people used the word ignorance a lot more.
As for her being called a paki, well c'mon get real people..she's indian. Paki is short for pakistani. Funny enough I never saw that word as offensive but then it depends who is saying it and in what context.
It was always going to be an incendiary topic anyway. Its not even about right and wrong but who can shout the loudest. It doesnt get anywhere but more misunderstanding about that over used word: racism.

I think Jade's career has come full circle. Big Brother made here. and nopw it will send her into hiding.
I can't understand why she went on, top selling products, nice life and now she has gone and messed it all up.
I agree with comments on here, I think the girls are more thick than anything and it has been blown out of proportion.
Matt

Fair enough, but I can't see 10,000 complaints coming in over Shilpa mimicking a brummie accent, or complaining Danielle had touched her food, whereby Shilpa complained. It definitely wouldn't be spoken about in parliament, or splashed across tabloids.
I can even prove this to a degree. Remember the BB contestant who was a black Tory MP or something? Derek I think his name was? In a conversation with one of the girls, he tried to mimic Antony's (the eventual winner) jordie accent. He went further, in stating that 'Northerners are backward.' The papers never made anything of this statement and as far as I'm aware, no complaints were made. It definitely didn't get into parliament!
As for her being called a paki, well c'mon get real people..she's indian.
'Paki' isn't a socially accepted word these days and it's rude to refer Pakistanis as 'pakis'. I didn't know they'd referred to Shilpa as a paki, and thus my points never covered this. This of course may not be racist, but it is rude, unacceptable, and wrong in this instance, as Shilpa is -as you say- Indian!

Re: Racist bullying on Celebrity Big Brother
On Monday evening I saw a program filmed in Britain of people being racist, sexist, inciting murder and wanting the breakdown of British democracy.
They said gays should be murderded, Jews and Indians should be killed, criminals should have their hands cut off, and they supported terrorists who plant bombs in the UK.
Was it the BNP, was it Big Brother.
No it was Muslim leaders speaking openly inside their Mosques.
The program was dispatches on Channel 4 at 8pm.
Surely THAT is what people should be talking about, not some stupid TV reality show.
Where was Keith Vaz condeming these Muslims like he has Big Brother.
Where were the questions in the house with quotes from Tony Blair and David Cameron, like we had in the house today.
My father (and millions of others) fought in the war to defeat the Nazis who were ready to invade and take away our way of life.
The Muslims I saw on Monday have also "invaded", but quietly through the back door, but they are just as determined to take away our way of life.
We should be VERY afraid of them.
I hope the police arrest some of them for inciting racial hatred and incitement to violence.
The stuff on Big Brother is very minor compared to what I saw on Monday.
