What is all this wear a white poppy for peace instead of a red poppy nonsense?

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie

Isn't that why we choose to wear a red poppy? November 11th is Remembrance Day. It is the one day set aside where we show our respect to the war dead. We don't get judgmental about why they died or where they died or for whom they died. A white poppy is about making a political statement on a day when none is welcome.

the red poppy hasn't got anything to do with glory in victory only in remembering people who died in conflict.

The red Poppy reminds us of the cost of Victory, peace and freedom, people who gave the ulitimate sacrifice.
The white poppy is a symbol of the politcally correct and arseholish students wanting to be different and noticed who deserve to be treated with contempt.
