Right At Your Door

Post by strictlybroadband »

Just saw the new movie release, Right At Your Door. It's a look at the personal experiences of a married couple on the day that several "dirty bombs" go off in LA.

Verdict: nah

The film isn't badly made, but the plot is based on drivel. The "science" involved is typical movie bollocks, and that ruins it. A couple of large bombs go off in downtown LA, and one at the airport, and the entire city gets coated with toxic dust. Yeah, right.

Then, they couldn't decide whether the bomb contained "toxins" or "hybrid viruses" or other similar nonsense.

And the twist at the end was just plain stupid. But I won't spoil it for you.

A wasted opportunity to make a really good thriller. Anyone seen anything good lately?

I enjoyed The Sentinel but then I like Keifer and Michael Douglas anyway....Yeah it was predictable , what do you expect with thte saving the president storyline bu tit was all popcorn entertainment and Keifer was in Jack Bauer mode so I knew I was gonna see it anyway

Next up Crank...Looks like mindless entertainment...Well i wouldnt want Sense and Sensibility everyday in my life. Ihope they cast him in the new Sweeny movie, he is a surly miserable git and perfect for playing Regan me thinks

Harsh Times was good...not quite what you expect which is what I liked about it and produced by Christian Bale too which means he cared very much for the project...It gets fucked up (in a dark way) which made it good for me and the mood throughout was very reminiscent of Crash (2005).

I thought it was pretty good. It was a pitty Eva Longoria didnt shed any clothes (yes I am shallow...and 12 years old) damn she's sexy fully dressed too...and definitely a good reason to watch Desperate Housewives for.

Saw Right At Your Door Tue night and The Sentinel last night.
Enjoyed both but preffered the latter even though it was all too predictable. Right At Your Door had me interested the whole way but I though the twist was crap, I was expecting more from it.

Last film I saw at the flicks was Cuiadad di dios (City of god) the Brazilian film about the shanty towns in Rio Di Janeiro, well worth seeing.
Shocking, sick, funny, fantastic script, superb acting. Its got the lot!
