Yeah, right. Battery problems solved a while ago. Colour display been available for a while now. Menus & functions easy to use. iPods 85% of the MP3 player since 2001.
Come to think of it, you're absolutely right, they're complete crap, the owners are Mactards and it's all just marketing LOL !grin!

I'm sorry I had no idea that I was culturally impoverished for failing to understand why it?s essential to have 10,000 songs in my back pocket when I pop out for a pint of milk. Oh look it's got a ?touch wheel?, how clever!!!
I think this just about sums it all up

Superb sites! Way beyond a Mactard's imagination. Are they yours, by any chance?

I agree in that they're expensive, but I can't agree in that the menu's are arranged poorly or they're less functional than Archos or, Creative players. (I think the latest screens on the Creative's are better than the iPods though!)
As for Apple selling us a 'lifestyle'? Well you could point the finger at lots of other products we buy as well. If I buy a pair of Levi jeans after watching a Levi's advertisement then I've been conned? I should have purchased Wrangler jeans instead? It's the same with what car you've purchased too. Since we spend more time on a PC these days than we would listening to an mp3 player then Microsoft "force" us into a 'Microsoft lifestyle' een more strongly. Now which is worse? Being 'sold' into a product by clever advertising (apple), or being forced into a product because there's no real alternative, (Microsoft)? Ok I have Ubuntu duel booting with XP but I admit that it's not a real viable option, even though I wish it was.
By the way..... Have Creative sorted out how songs are arranged now? When I went to buy my first mp3 player about 4-5 years ago, Creative players used to arrange songs in alphabetical order and you couldn't do anything about it. So all the songs were in different orders from your CD's and you couldn't seperate 'rock' songs from 'classical' songs. It was still the same about 2 years ago. Now thats dumb functionality! Have creative 'caught on' yet?
