A friendly BGAFD?

this forum has changed loads over the last few years i've been posting

when I was first around there was only one forum, this changed mainly because of steve56 and his random posts, as a result the OT forum was formed, which expanded into the promotions forum due to a lot of spam.

the OT forum became a pretty enjoyable place with certain people having differing views saying their piece from which side of thinking they were at. You had bimmer with his american thinking vs mart and caractacus in the middle. I tended to be sticking to science thinking cos of my background and dibble in the mix with others chipping in such as Ace, Holden and Magoo (apologies to any i've not mentioned)

Over time a lot of right wing thinking has crept into this forum in particular which in my opinion has changed things from being a semi serious exchange of views to some pretty antaganistic threads which I'm not really interested in and i'm sure a lot of others are too, which in my opinion is the main reason for a lot of regular posters not being around.

Some new posters have joined the mix who have been a welcome addition such as fudgeflaps and Idoldroog (sorry again for any missing) but these are few and far between.

it seems now if you post an opinion you are likely to get called a tabloid reader (which I have), a 'do-gooder' (a shame that the phrase to do good is now a term of abuse) or a communist!

I think this is why a lot of people have not bothered posting or given up the idea of a meaningful chat on this forum, I know I have for the time being apart from certain threads/posts with people who I can reckon on not degenerating into crap

Also sorely missed are JJ, Lizard (but his very useful locker is still with us), and not forgetting my ocker fellow down-under Deuce.
I've been called a whinger and a few worse epithets (I don't object to Guardian reader) but I can honestly say I've never knowingly used this forum to promote a progressive left-wing agenda. I'm always prepared to try to counter the rightwingers who constantly post items trying to stir up antagonism to minorities. Thats why I "boringly" ask for sources not just wild rumours or exaggerations. However on many occasions the posts leave no room for debate, they're just slagging off.

true Mart, i've never given you grief, I agree with some of your views but not all but i've enjoyed your perspective (I miss jj, he sent me some good dvds lol), Liz was a scaley god (like I said , can't include em all)

i've never seen you as a overt promoter of left wing thinking, you just throw it into the mix to balance the other side
I like this, it makes the discussions balanced, we are all diiferent with different ways of thinking/cultures etc, it makes life interesting at the end of the day

Given their generally bad press in the mainstream media, the BNP has adopted a policy of actively targeting local newspapers and internet discussion forums. Activists are instructed to focus on issues like asylum and race in posts and letter-writing campaigns posing as "Mr Angry", not usually admitting their link to the party other than adding a spontaneous sounding "might as well give the BNP a try" comment tacked on at the end. It's all so polite and reasonable on the surface. In one recent case a white BNP activist rang up a local radio programme pretending to be black in order to "agree" with the party's policy on repatriation. Not everyone is as they seem.

Of course it's ironic for them to pop up on a forum dedicated to the British Adult industry, given BNP party policy that porn fuels rapes and child abuse and needs to be shut down (see recent thread). The fact that quite a few British performers & producers are other than white seems to escape them in their whining about coloureds/foreigners/pakis. Then again, white women who perform with black guys are guilty of "betraying their race" in their eyes. What's next, segregated sex-shops? It's no wonder some good people have left the BGAFD boards in recent months.

Thanks for bringing up this issue, Brother Blue. Perhaps we've got to the point where the mods will have to ban all political-themed topics so that this forum can return to being a light-hearted place to shoot the breeze, not a haven for insults and disrespect.

PS And why do I care about all this? Simply because I'm white, but my wife is not. I'm sure that offends certain people round here, but they know where they can go !tut!

Good post fred. It is surprising that a board dedicated to the adult industry attracts a handful of backward, anti-liberty individuals. Like you, for me the issue of bigotry is a red rag. If people expressed some of the views seen here to my face, they'd be spitting teeth. Still - I guess that's why the Internet's a good thing - keeps things non-physical!

Long live BGAFD - it's a great hub for the UK industry.
