Covered by the Video Recordings Act 1984 Section 12 in the UK
It is legal to import foreign DVDs for the sole use of the importer, provided that (i) those DVDs are not to be resupplied in the UK and (ii) those DVDs contain nothing in breach of the Obscene Publications Act or other relevant laws, on the provisio that it was:
Purchased at any shop abroad and hand carried back into the UK
Purchased at an overseas based online sex shop and imported via mail
Purchased from any mail order company based overseas

So anyone else can legally supply a R18 DVD by post except British film-makers who can only sell to mainly the Soho shops! I smell the sickly smell of corruption here. Who benefits financially from this unjuste situation? Think about it.

Not UK to UK, but Europe to UK yes, providing the content is of a standard comparable to R18.

If you are selling clips/downloads and not DVD's then that is OK - no problem there, the problem comes down to 'physical' media.
