He not only apologised, he understood and explained why what he did was wrong. The cartoons still offended him, but he understood the offence and pain he caused the families of those affected by the bombings in London.

We all say things in the heat of the moment, stupid, moronic even hurtful things that we wouldn't if we had paused to think about it. But we don't stop----our tempers get the better of us, and we steam ahead.

He's been brave enough and big enough to admit his mistake. Hopefully the others who caused anguish with their placards and chants will do the same.

It's not for nothing that we're advised to "ignore the voices; they are not your friends." Let the irresponsible voice in your head get its way, and at best you are left looking stupid.

These cartoons were first published six months or so ago. Why is it we're only getting the protests now? Someone is orchestrating this.
