Religious Hatred

Post by dynatech »

If they outlaw "religious hatred" I'm afraid I'll be in trouble... I'm guilty of Hating organised Religion and those that inflict their ridiculous views on everyone else. I hate how outdated hocus-pocus is fast becoming "uncritisizable", it is truly just another weapon with which to control us peasants and keep us in check.
I hate stupid pompous religions nearly as much as I despise the US corporate imperialists, and I REALLY HATE combinations of the two; be it pseudo-christianity rearing it's hypocritical head in immoral US corporations, guilty of holding the world to ransom as far as drugs and health go, or their attempts to bring out the worst in middle-eastern Islamics all for the love of oil, causing this utterly futile "West vs Islam" bollocks that seems to be permeating every nook and cranny in the world.
It WILL all come to a head one day soon, like it or not the "them and us" feeling is growing; America vs Islam all in an attempt to control the world. The US wants (and is doing a pretty good job so far) us all to become subserviant sub-states looking the mighty USA for laws and guidance (and it will do ANYTHING to achieve this - for instance 9/11) and the Islamic Extremists want to take over the west armed with the Koran and whatever weapons they can lay their hands on, and yet seem to be America's greatest weapon in their desire for ultimate control.

And, no, I don't believe all Americans are evil, or all Muslims are bad, but I DO believe the flawed beliefs both sides have, and the hidden agenda's os those running the show, will bring a shitload more trouble and I can't think of a way out of this madness.
They're locking them up today, they're throwing away the key...I wonder who it be tomorrow, you or me?

'Religious Hatred' sounds like a great idea for a new political party to me. Ban all religion I say. It does nobody any good at all.

You're right to point out the craven support of the Catholic Church for right-wing dictators, but to call the present pope a "Nazi" is a bit rich. Ratzinger joined the Hitler Youth at the age of 14 in 1941, but what choice did he have - membership of the organisation was legally required from December 1936. What would you have done?

He was a Lutherian pastor and played a key leadership role in the Confessing Church, which opposed the anti-semitic policies of Adolf Hitler. He was among those who called for wider church resistance to Hitler's treatment of the Jews. The Confessing Church represented a major focus of Christian opposition to the Nazi government in Germany.

In 1939 he joined a hidden group of high-ranking military officers based in the Abwehr who wanted to overthrow the National Socialist regime by killing Hitler.

He was arrested in April 1943 after money used to help Jews escape to Switzerland was traced to him, and he was charged with conspiracy. He was imprisoned in Berlin for a year and a half. After the unsuccessful July 20 Plot in 1944, Bonhoeffer's connections to the conspirators were discovered and he was executed.

He was also a member of the Widestand - the German Resistance.
