It looks like the shit is really starting to hit the fan.Abysmal mismanagment of the after effects of the hurricanes, 2,000 dead in Iraq [and counting], and the latest one; two of his closest aides up on possible criminal charges.
One is Karl Rove And the other one is .....the American vice president, Dick Cheney, this just keeps getting better and better.
George "Dubya" Bush.

Nothing new from where I'm looking
Cheney has already been shown to have had his snout in the trough with the Armed Forces outsourcing contract and Karl Rove via his aide Scooter Libby were heavily involved in the creation of the WMD smokescreen
What gets me is that these Governments(I include Australias Liberal party led by little Johny Howard)have been shown to have lied & intentionally misled the public but still the public vote for them over the opposition
A sad state of affairs
cheers

This is what gets me in 'good old Limey land', I really don't why Tony Blair went along with this fiasco,i mean whatever you think of Blair, the man's not stupid [Micheal Moore said the same thing] Why is Blair and Howard going along with this bullshit, sucking up to a bunch of lying retards or as they're better known "Neocons".
Jaque Chirac may be two faced froggy git, but he was'nt fooled, and i,as an Englishman are really embarrassed to admit that he's absolutely right.

Simple...TRADE
Not long after Australia signed on to the fight against terrorism we started low key bi-lateral trade talks
They screwed us good & proper but when your the little kid on the block you don't have much bargaining power.
I suspect in another 20 years time we'll see where we went horribly wrong
when we're made a state of america by default
cheers

Part of the problem with foreign policy in most western countries, Buttsie, is the inability to look 20 years ahead and see where a decision made today might take you.
Twenty years ago, everyone was falling over themselves to sell weapons to Saddam and Iraq was seen as a sensible buffer to the fundamentalist regime in Iran. Boy, did we pick the wrong side in that!

True but then there were no right sides back then if you take the view that secular democracies are opposed to dictatorships & theocracies
As my father said many years ago Uncle Sam has been geared for War since the end of the last World War so why would he dismantle this infrastructure?
Might explain some of the more dubious foreign policy decisions of the past 50 years
cheers

True, which is why a permanent peace is about as likely as an end to World Poverty
You got to laugh how Uncle Sammy manages retire ageing military hardware and flog off to its allies for a song
Apparently theres a stockpile in the arizona desert that could rival many of the worlds armies if it so wished
Instead they dress them up and flog them off to cheap skates like Australia
cheers

Just for a bit of fun - go to google, type in "failure" and click on I'm feeling lucky.
