Secam to Pal any idea's

Hi, needs special vhs recorders (like Samsung W1) who can transfer SECAM (and NTSC) into PAL...pretty expensive..

Why not 1394 (fire wire) them on to your hard drive and then output as whatever?

Conversion is digital; so it's pretty good if you have a good quality original tape to work from, SECAM or NTSC. There can be problems with colour from SECAM - reds and yellows too hot and tending to spread.
