Apparently the joke was a reference to David Beckham not wanting to sign for Newcastle because of the damage the Toon Army did in Asia.

He said....St george won numerous premierships in the fifties with 1 RAPER

Maybe the joke was in bad taste but Sky have him on there panel to be controversial. That's what Sky ask him to do and subsequently what they pay him for.

So if he drops the odd proverbial clanger then Sky have themselves to blame.

The politically correct brigade have taken over the world I'm afraid.

Oh yeah , it says that on his column in the daily star on a saturday . But i think characters like him and big Ron make things like soccer saturday worth watching . JJ . Not that i can condone what either of them said .

I totally agree which was my point in my previous post (although I didn't get me point accross very well).

Personally I don't like Marsh but at least he has something to say and gives his opinion (unlike some pundits, mainly on the BBC).

As I said Sky employed him to be controversial and even though I personally don't like him I think they were well wrong to sack him.

Lets be honest Frank MacLintock's comment about 10 little niggers was a helluva lot worse and he got suspended for 2 months and is now back at work for Sky.

Have to say Sky need to develop a sense of humour. No great fan of Marsh's but the joke was mildy amusing and in no way offensive to me anyway.

I find brain rotting shite like Big Brother, Celeb Fat Club and batty boys Ant & Dec far more offensive. TV for thickos and Chavs.

That's it , i do miss big Ron' on itv , and im no real fan of Rod's but i'd rather listenn to likes of them and the late Cloughie than some muppet in coma like Bestie that can't even tell you wht's happenning nevermind what happened 5 minutes ago ...
