There was only ever going to be one outcome---the Moscow theatre siege told us that.

I'd have no trouble with these rebels and their cause, if they would only target the people responsible and not some innocent civilians.

Oh, and thank goodness the suicide bombers so beloved of the Iraqis and Palestinians and Chechens weren't prevelant in the IRA and UDA etc.

The only thing (apart from dozens of innocent deaths) that these morons have achieved is the condemnation of the entire Chechen nation, innocenty along with complicit, by the whole civilised world.

A weird thing, I know- but why were half the kids coming out nearly naked?
Was it the terrorists' appraisal that naked people (adults, yes: but kids?) are easier to intimidate, or were Spetsnaz checking them over for concealed nasties?

I believe the rebels turned the air con off and it must be hot in the building with that amount of people. The scary thing is now that several of the rebels have escaped into the town.

It might also be that half-naked kids running out of the school might cause panic and confusion among the waiting parents, and possibly the troops, and give some of the rebels a chance to sneak out.

The naked-ness was attributed to limited water supplies. When the kids were crying for water, the rebels stripped them and soaked their clothes in the limited water and ordered the kids to 'suck' the moisture from them and wear them to cool them down.
