Yes, I saw a documentary on them once and I seem to recall mention of them attending Uni or similar.

Since moving to the other side of the pond I've had to go without my twice weekly dose of Richard Littlejohn - with that last post you just may have filled the gap.

As with us 'normal' folk, I guess it's the same for the gypsies - a few bad un's spoil it for the rest.

But I broadly agree with your 'no smoke without fire' argument. A travelling 'lifestyle' of stealing, littering and not paying taxes is bound to upset people.

Thanks Michelle, yours is the first on topic response I've had.
I love the book too. I had completely forgotten some of the things in there like Knob chopper. But that one serves us men right for never putting the seat down....lol
