Oasis album best ever?

Post by Illinoisblue »

MANCUNIAN rockers Oasis have beaten a host of heavyweight rivals to scoop the title for Best British Album Ever.

Their 10-year-old best-seller, Definitely Maybe, topped a staff poll of 50 best albums by music magazine Q.

The Gallagher brothers even squeezed their heroes the Beatles in to second place with their 1966 Revolver album.

Oasis recently signed Zak Starkey, the son of former Beatle Ringo Starr as their latest drummer.

Just below the Beatles came The Sex Pistols? Never Mind The Bollocks Here?s the Sex Pistols comes third on the list, followed by Radiohead?s OK Computer.

Next up was The Clash in fifth place, followed by David Bowie, the Rolling Stones and The Smiths.

Led Zeppelin?s Led Zeppelin III came ninth, with Massive Attack?s Blue Lines in 10th place.

In a recent staff poll of the top fifty cheap, lazy publishing stunts, staff polls came first.

If you ever wanted a reason not to buy Q magazine this poll is surely it.

Good point! Oasis are crap and the singer is a pathetic little twat pretending to be hard while surrounded by his bouncers. Keith Moon, Bonham, Ozzy and their ilk were "Rock'n'Roll" but without the obnoxious attitude of this wanker. The Sex Pistols were a load of wank and Radiohead are a bunch of boring bastards with a boss-eyed little streak of piss for a singer! What a fucking poll!

I think it was some kind of poll like this that finally convinced me never ever to buy another copy of Q magazine. Either that or they featured a Spice Girl on the cover.

Anyway, ignoring the Beatles for a moment (Best Band Ever, No Contest), there is no possible way Definitely Maybe is the best album of the 90s, let alone "ever".

For God's sake..!

Typical Q wank.

I agree with a lot of what's in their top ten, and why, but Oasis---no!
