Best porn film ever seen.

Following on from Jonboy's recent topic regarding the 1st porn film watched. I thought it might be interesting to discover what forumites consider the best porn film they have ever seen. My first one was certainly not the best! The best one I have ever scene by some considerable way is Hans Billian 1981 production of 'Aus dem Tagebuch der Josefine Mutzenbacher'. This film had all the ingredients of a first class porn film. A large exceptionally attractive female cast. A number of male actors who could actually act. First class scenery and a storyline that was easy to follow even if you had not mastered German. I have seen many other good ones, particularly from the same era, but none quite exceeded this one.

The best one for effect was my first one. It was the first time I had seen anything like it. You must remember in the early 70s everyone was shagging like mad, but there were no outlets to watch other people. When we saw a hardcore at a guy?s house, after that, one person had a minor seizure; we thought he was having a heart attack.
However the best on merit has to be Sex Shot with Cassandra Wilde, Laura Angel and Katya Love

I've seen too many to pick one definitively, but probably the most erotic, though it shows only oral penetration in specific detail, is The Image (aka The Punishment of Anne), directed by Radley Metzger who later directed films like The Opening of Misty Beethoven under the alias of Henry Paris. It was based on a French erotic novel and filmed in the exact Parisian locations mentioned in the book, with interiors shot in New York. A prime example of what you have said elsewhere about directors who learned their craft in soft core films.

It's also the only hard core DVD sold by amazon.com.

Impossible to pick any definitive single movie out, but one did make me sit up recently. 'Vista Valley PTA' with, amongst others, Jessie St James, Kay Parker, Juliet Anderson and Jamie Gillis. Set in the LA suburbs of the early eighties it's a high school fuck film that deals with dark issues of incest, rape and teen sex in a serious and dramatic way. The movie is so sumptuously cinematic that for the fist 5-10 minutes you are lulled into thinking that you have inadvertently picked up a 'straight' movie. But a good straight movie, you can't bring yourself to stop watching. Then we get to the the first sex where a teenage girl playing hooky from high school gobbles her boyfriend off in his convertible car. And then, before long, we get scenes of domestic rape, respectable married fathers visiting hookers and wanking off. Fathers forcing themselves on their teenage daughters and finally the gang rape of the pretty young teacher who has come to Vista Valley to take up a post left vacant by another teacher who went missing... It's powerful stuff, oppressive with the weight of the subject matter, a tension and sense of foreboding throughout the whole film. There are some good sex sequences here. But the best thing about it is that it's real sex. The sort of sex real people have in the real world. There's no pretentious, irrelevant, bukakke, no gaping asses, no plastic tits or shaved beavers, no goofy geezers acting the goat. Just real people fucking and sucking in dramatic circumstances. Consequently, it is very powerful and erotic. A thoughtful well made film that exudes quality. Superb.

You are right, Dibble, they don't make them like that anymore. As Alec suggests, it is because there are no directors left in porn who came via softcore or the straight cinema, although someone, no doubt, will suggest differently!

would have to agree with you regarding Sex Shot Jonboy. While i haven't decided if its the best film i've ever seen, it's definitely right up there.
The DP scene with Cassandra being one of the best DP scenes i've seen.
Mind you, any film with Cassandra Wilde in it is a winner for me!

Hello, My memories go back to the 70s,when it was all magazines. Tottenham Court Road had a fair few under the counter types my first hardcore view was there. The following year saw my first hardcore film .The other locations were Villiers Street one Porno Shop there. Leicester Sq just of it, Soho several (That was in the days when it had a rip off reputation.) The ones in TCR had the same familiar faces , the ones in Soho more transient.By the late 70s Cinemas sprang up and they took of,all in all different time and more of a buzz buying it the

remember soho in late 70's early 80's with the seedy cinemas showing shaky hardcore films in small darkened rooms. one place you could watch in one room then pop down to the basement and watch some more, oh happy days !!!!
