WMV converting?

Does anyone know how to convert WMV files to AVI or MPG format with easily available free software? I'd be very grateful for info, cheers, SP

Thanks, I've tried both those and for some reason the file's formats aren't recognised. Looks like I have a problem with my setup in some way, hmmm. cheers anyways. SP

You might just need to download the latest codecs from depending on what the error messages were

I've found the utility at to be useful in correcting annoying computer problems especially with video playback
