Louis on BBC2 last night

Post by Ace »

VERY VERY disturbing documentary about Calfornian White Supremists. The only time I have seen Theroux look disturbed and lost for words. Some programmes should be aired for the viewer to make their own mind up, but this is one that didn't deserve to be shown. Very sick and Very disturbing indeed

I mean that whilst it was very disturbing, it gave those sicko's a chance to air their very views that help make a sick society. What sickened me were the two 11 year old 'sweet as Mom's apple pie' twins with their brainwashed opinions

"but this is one that didn't deserve to be shown."

Didn't deserve to be shown? Ace, you're wrong. Why shouldn't that programme have been shown? Your argument that viewers should be allowed to make their own minds up - but not in the case of this programme ? is ridiculous. Anyone with half an ounce of common sense and decency can see that the people portrayed in When Louis Met The Nazis are ignorant, retarded cretins clinging to absurd beliefs. The only possible reaction to a white 'supremacist' is to laugh in his face.

i almost feel a bit sorry for them tho because i reckon about 95% of them inherited their beliefs from their parents in the same way that we inherited a lack of racism....brainwashed indeed

the benefit of showing programmes like this is that it shows these people up for the ignorant idiots that they are and opens them up for ridicule!

Assuming you find them idiots and ridiculous upon consideration, of course. Any show of power/assumed authority will be seductive to some, regardless of the context in which it's shown, and/or its inherent stupidity. Isn't that how these things vile things spread - in disregard of the rational? One of the many frightening things about this was that, all told, you couldn't see Theroux's usual casual mockery making a blind bit of difference to some.

i think the scary idea is that some of their notions are supported with statistics and facts about crime....the last thing they need is a fucking position to argue!

Personally i think you should all be more intersted in the content than making politically correct statements. Yes it was disturbing to think that people think like that, but would you be making the same comments if the show had been about the Black Panthers or Anti western Muslim organisation. Then i feel you would have been saying how well adjusted and free the british media are and how important it was to hear and see other points of view. Personally i think they were made to look farcicall especially ther PR Guru (the ex alleged cocaine smuggler).

Perhaps it's me but people these days seem to want to look/sound politically correct irrespective of preserving free speech and discussion.

As the great scholar say's "Anybody who said they are a Brain Surgeon are really a Taxi Driver?"
