Yes, but like Shakespeare beautifully written in large part and full of phrases and meanings we still use today.

I cant remember where I read the obit but it was probably the Guardian.
I like both Durrell bros. books but Gerald is in a very different class. Btw did you know that sister Margot has written a book too, sort of autobiographical.
I would love to have met that marvellous Anglophile Greek, Theodore Xenophon Stephanides. He seems to have had a memorable effect on everyone who met him, not just the Durrell bros. but Henry Miller too.
