no, but the milk monitor elections are coming up in the new year and you're welcome to run against deuce if you think you have something different to offer.

You only need look at the size of the Taxation Rules Book

In Australia its gone fron 2000pages to roughly 9000pages in under 20 years

If they kept it simple then we wouldn't need accountants-god forbid

Then you get your cases where the IRS/Taxation Office make a ruling but change their mind 5/7 years later

Presently in Australia there are thousands of mum & dad investors who bought into tax minimisation schemes being asked to repay tax deductions claimed over 5 years due to such a ruling....we're talking tens of thousands of dollars to be repaid not over 5 years but in one lump sum

Pure evil at work IMHO

As for education not being free for all Governemnts need to get their heads out of the sand.

Saw an alarming documentary on USA schools where companies sponsor
them school in exchange for advertising in the classroom through videos...a place of learning or brainwashing...the jury is still out

We all know someone has to pay but this oversteps the line of right/wrong by a country mile IMHO

cheers

Well, ID, it would be helpful if you could decide what exactly you want to study first. And don't worry about previous unrelated qualifications either. All qualifications are good qualifications in that they show you have the ability to dedicate yourself, work to deadlines, pass exams etc. Slating yourself on your educational choices is like asking people to agree with you. Never do it - make them work in your favour, from whatever angle. Do remember any interview panel worth its salt will rate genuine interest as highly as anything else on their list of priorities - personal study an added bonus and always noted. That's all I can say at the moment.

(By the way, you seem to make the common error of lumping media studies and arts studies together. Not so. Art students can only do. Media students can only watch. A whole sweet world of difference)

loll last word, thats a nice way of putting it but the link between art and media i think is the general desire to naively hope they will lead straight into a cushy job at the bbc or an exhibition at the tate or something. they are both v. much the flavour of the decade and will continue to do so. unfortunately some people would actually suit those roles and may be getting pushed aside by people who just want them as lifestyle choices. id q. like to be a researcher (not specifically tv) but again, u say that to someone and its like saying "when i grow up im gonna be a pop star"

ur advice was well written and much appreciated :) ive got my gcses and a level english and media ( got thrown off history) but i never really applied myself to anything. like u said its a matter of chosing something and i suppose theres a few options at that moment covering design, property, that kinda stuff.
but ur point about selling yourself is my downfall - its why i find it so difficult to get jobs because i cant sell myself or promote myself to people wheni need to, i see it as arrogance which i cant handle too well - its a fucker really lol

like i said, thanks for ur thoughts - i respect those who kno better than me and are prepared to share :)
