Education, Education, Education

Post by SID THE CYNIC »

Didn't Mr. Blair say that when he came to power?

I see another of the hypocrits in his party has decided to send her child to a public school ( ?10,000 a year) rather than lower herself to having offspring who attend the local comp.

I'm all for people spending their money on what they like, but from a party seemingly against any form of privileged upbringing (Mr Blair is public school educated by the way...) it seems a bit bloody ripe that she decided to send the poor little sprog there.

But Hey! Didn't Tone and Chezza elect to send one of their kids to the Oratory School.... and hasn't Harriet Harman send her's to a public school?

They should be bloody ashamed of themselves. Spout off what they want us all to do, but when their own are involved their moral stand point goes out the window.

Hypocrits. Blair and the whole shower of 'New' 'Labour'.

It is a bit of a misnomer to call fee-paying schools as Public Schools when the majority of the population can't afford the fees.

........'New' 'Labour' MPs are amongst those who can though.

If folk can afford it and want to send their child away to school that's fine by me. I just can't stand it when Labour want to kill off the grammar school and are always slagging off a private education.

Yet where did many go,and where do many send their offspring!

on more positive, albeit, barely acknowledged, note with regard to how new labour's policies are affecting the children of this country...

why this independent report didn't attract more media attention, i don't know, as there's not a cat-in-hell's chance these improvements would have happened under the tories.

Very laudable woodgnome but I've never been comfortable with the concept of poverty being relative. But there could be an alternative explanation anyway: if families at the lower end of the spectrum have less children than formerly, couldn't that affect the comparison?

Oh piss off Bimmercat. Havn't you heard that the Soviet Union is gone. It's all MacDonalds and CocaCola and beauty contests over there now. Very cultured, just like the USA.
