Re: more promises[tony blair]
And Gordon Brown stands up with a rousing speech and
gets a long standing ovation.
Meanwhile in the Daily Telegraph financial page today it
says:
Chancellor's finances fall ?3bn deeper in the red
Official figures on the public finances released yesterday
showed a dramatic ?3bn plunge deeper into the red in the
past few weeks.
The deficit on government current spending up until June
was ?14.5Bn, not the ?11.4Bn estimated a few weeks ago.
The figure is more than double the ?6.3Bn at the same time
last year.
The 3Bn allocated for the Iraq war has been exhausted.
Guilbert.

Re: more promises[tony blair]
If governments were ever serious about their Nations Health they would be doing more than waffling on about more money for Hospitals etc
Its not rocket science...sensible eating & exercise = healthy people
For better health outcomes you need to start a long way before a person gets to hospital....education about healthy living needs to start in school
but then that has to be backed up by people being able to buy
the healthy foods at an affordable price which sadly isn't ever going to happen
The day someone makes healthy food taste like junk food we might stand a possibility of becoming healthier nations
cheers

Re: more promises[tony blair]
Its the same in many OECD countries
Not enough wage earners to pay for future Pensions
I blame the slackness in assets testing
My parents get an Aussie pension all up of (AUS$18,000 a year tax free) while his superannuation of $AUS400,000 just sits there earning more interest.Under the assets test he's entitled to do is-total bollocks IMO
He's retired so he should be using his super in his retirement
Far to logical or once again another Minority Lobby Group(grey Power as they are called down under) has both Political Parties running scared over votes
cheers
