I saw the documentary, I was a little unimpressed and somewhat naive - I was expecting a balanced view (from the Beeb, I know right!) but it tended, as these things always tend to, focus on the negative.

That aside the segment on screen capping is worth watching for people starting to cam. It means it isn't forgettable, one-time performances for quick money. Full videos can be made and published anywhere.

In fact as the doc points out, there are several tube sites and blogs with the sole purpose of collating, archiving and screening these clips and stills caps.

Capping has been around for ages and as far as I know none of the cam sites have a way to detect screen capping of their feed. If you are a regular performer you probably have already been capped. I've just tried it on both My Free Cams, AdultWork and LiveJasmine.

It's a pretty bum deal for the cam performers, they might not be losing a lot of cash because chances are if they want cam footage they'll want to see them/direct them on cam but, for those who thought they had more anonymity doing cam work rather than conventional modeling... that isn't the case and there is really not anything that can be done to curb it at the moment.

Is your signature supposed to be ironic?

The programme sounds like cheap tv to me. Sex, voyeurism, etc. Anything to keep the masses thinking but passive.
