you're definitely not alone Emac! I can't understand why the Sky channels have so much attention - they're about as erotic as the Grattan catalogue!!

Why don't these producers embrace the Internet and be a bit forward thinking, Sky can't broadcast anything beyond softcore nudity, so why limit yourself to Sky's softcore channels when broadband Internet access offers more varying choice and can cost less than a monthly subscription to TVX??

Sorry to anyone associated in the UK adult TV market, but the days of watching porn on the TV, whether it's a hardcore film with any close-ups/penetration edited out, or if it's one of those pointless phone-in channels where the girls can't do more than show some cleavage, I think it's safe to say that the TV market is on it's last legs - why not think ahead and put some money into bringing us the best porn videos on the web instead, where it's less restrictive than the TV platform?

I'll admit that I stand to be corrected as this is only my understanding of the broadcast legislation.

Under European broadcast legislation (which overrides the UK legislation) TV broadcasters are able to broadcast adult material that is legal in their territory. In the UK that equates to R18.
However, UK broadcasters don't because they appear to be too scared to stand up to OFCOM and challenge when they get fined by flashing a wee bit of pussy. Either that or they're making enough money without "rocking the boat".

As I said though, I do stand to be corrected but that is my understanding. Still, as "Internet Ready" TV's increase in numbers they may be forced to up their game or go out of business.
