i agree with jj. but to me a porn actress is jenna jameson, tera patrick etc, girls who can do a bit of acting and have just standard arty sex for the cameras. a pornstar to me is angel long for example, who can do the gonzo side of porn but every kind of sex act as well.

I think originally porn star referred to someone who had achieved a recognised name in porn, as opposed to someone who had appeared in porn but whose name wouldn't be recognised by many.

But as someone said above, nowadays almost anyone who has appeared in porn can get referred to as a porn star.

Another factor is that girls aren't required to act much in porn nowadays with so much gonzo stuff and the like about. They just need to get their clothes off and get down to it.
