If I can just butt in here on the subject of Tanya Hyde's Cabaret Bizarre, I bought this film recently, also purchased House of Shame a few weeks earlier. I was very disappointed with both of them and sold them both recenty without even having watched the whole film. Nothing wrong with the action so to speak but the picture quality was awful. I actually felt like I had been ripped off as the box cover shots for both films used regular photographs, whereas both films had a very washed out look to them, the colours were way off, everything had a pinkish hue to it, and as a result all the girls looked very pale. You got no indication of this from the box cover shots.
I've had other Harmony films before and was happy with them, but as a result of these two more recent titles, I'm not sure I would part with my cash (certainly not ?25 from a Harmony store) for another of their titles.

Just thought I'd add my opinion as a regular 'joe punter'.

Postings about UK porn always get the moths out the cupboard and though I agree with your comments one thing I will ask is please dont par our UK industry aginst the US.

For a start there is a small issue of budget which is like Chelsea and Hove Albion and then there is sales which is like Asda and Bob the baker. So now the question is who has the best shop ASDA with a multi million budget or Bobs Bakery when you want clothes?

Then we get in to ideas and production and more than anything else this is where we differ. A vast majority of US prodz are wanbe main stream tv people who for whatever reason just could not lift the weight so as many actreses they enter the world of adult and bring with them all their main stream methods and approach. Over here prodz are generaly people who have no main stream tv ambition which for a percentage of the industry and viewers is fine because non is expected but for a greater percentage like you its just not cutting the mustard.

Then and most crucial we try to keep pace with US product and create as much porn as is flooding in which would be fine if we were making buttons, washers or hammers but what is sometimes forgot is that was excactly what our mains stream movie industry did and like Rover it died being a cheap cousin.

The knock on effect of all this is we still have not embrassed DVD for its full potential and most prodz see it as just a flat round video tape so you get no extras, galleries, behind the scenes, WEB PREVIEW, or even a 5 min C rig view of the next title in creation.

Some prodz get all wound up about sailors and pirates but what a crime it is to have a media like DVD and not take it to the digital age and all because the bloke up the road will copy it and sell if for a quid. Every BXD film uses the logo and url so even if we can never stop the booters we can USE them to expand the brand and still give the people paying top shillings value for money.

Anyway I'll state for the record I do like British Porn and nailing my flag I'll say a BIG up for Relish, Viv Thomas, Anna Span and some (not all) Rude Brittania sorry Spence though I'm told by someone who knows that the stuff in creation is well HOT!!!!!!!!!!

The one I got was 'Fuck Me Silly', First of all the DVD has 7 scenes and it's broken down into smaller segments which is good. I can forgive no extras for 7 scenes.

As soon as scene 1 comes on, I can hear camera noise. The guy starts doing something between Lolly's legs but I can't see because the camera is over the other side of the room filming the performers side on! This is what I mean about bad camera angles! In my opinion you should have been low down at the bottom of the bed so the viewers can see what's he and she are doing. Straight after this there's a unsubtle edit, I noticed it and I'm not a techie. One frame they're laying on the bed, the next they're standing up. If you did a fade transition at this point it would have been less noticable and would have moved smoothly between the two positions.

The stationary camera I felt was lame, this is something I expect from a couple down the road who put a handycam on their dressing table to make a dirty movie, not a company charging 20+quid for a DVD. I actually felt this camera angle added nothing at all. I've jus paused the DVD at 3:17, if you take a still of this frame it looks more like a security camera angle.

The scene itself, i've never seen performances quite like it before. It was more like a WWE match than a sex scene. It was all over the place in my opinion.

Scene 2 the guy had a spotty ass. I appreciate no ones perfect but I wouldn't have filmed anyone with a spotty ass like that. )

Scene 3 again kept cutting to the stationary camera, I just don't see why? I mean surely you limit yourself as to where you can move with the handheld camera? The angle you have at 1:34:10 is great, I wanna see more like this! it fills the screen as should be. Compare that to 1:35:25, night and day.

The scene with Poppy and Elizabeth + dude, half the time the camerman's shadow was all over the performers, straight afterwards another cameraman could be seen in person camera left. On thing that strikes me, I don't see why 2 cameras are need to shoot a scene like this. Maybe that was the reason there was so many issues with shadows?

I thought lighting overall was good though. No darkness or white outs.

I agree in the main with your comments. Fuck me silly was one of my very first movies and i too was disapointed with the final edit. This is why i then decided to buy my own edit suite and now employ full time editors to edit my movies. At that time i had no control of the edit and although this can not be held totally to blame, did have an affect on the finished dvd.

As far as your comments "like a wrestling match" anyone who knows Lolly and Mick know that this is the way they fuck ! plain and simple, i wanted to keep the scene real and let them perform how they do behind closed doors, and they did exactly that, Lolly is a star and i actually really like that scene as it was her very first on camera boy/girl.

Guy's with spotty arses are out of my control unfortunately, i do carry oxy gel normally but had run out on that day due to budget cuts. and the makeup artist used all the coverstick on the previous spotty arse !

Although this was nothing i did'nt already know, I thank you for your comments and take them on board.

I agree - Isabel Ice does eye-popping US stuff with Belladonna which rates R18, and here we get her in tame outings like The Lady Boss, which gets rave reviews on this site. Why can't Brit producers get the best out of Isabel?

Don't generalise Chris G...Theres a number of factors behind this and some might start from depending on the models mood that day right through to out and out professionalism...I guess Isabel hasnt done nothing but good work all the way in the US then has she? There could be handful of films that are great and another two that are just ok...

It also depends on who you get in to perform with the model also.
