This is scare mongering in the extreme - as good (or should that be bad??) an example of tabloid jumping on the band wagon journalism as I have ever come across!

Just because there are one or two bad apples in the barrel doesnt mean everyone else is the same and your comment about sticking to tried and known names is rubbish but predictable in the extreme and a perfect example of using bad news to your benefit. Whats to say that the alleged killer wasnt a well know and tried name in the business? You are making assumptions that he is an amateur and therefore all amateurs are bad - likewise if he turns out to be a well known photographer should the reverse apply and girls only use unknowns cos surely if one known photographer is bad then they all must be?

If you read the article in full there is a comment from a known fetish photographer which I trhink sums it up perfectly:

"...every time this happens, the media wants to indict the entire industry. But how many young women are killed while working at convenience stores? Does the media come down on that industry? No."

In my LIMITED experience some models are their own worst enemies and only see the pound signs in front of their eyes - I have had models turn up for shoots to my house without ever having even spoken to me on the phone and then they also turn up completely alone with no chaperone. Like any business you have to take sensible precautions such as checking out a persons credentials and bringing a chaperone along for shoots.

Frankly I would have expected to have seen something like this in the Sport or the Sun or some other rag tabloid but not coming from a well known and respected producer who, in my opinion, should know better.

Sorry Terry, but usually your posts are witty, well thought out and eminently readable. In this instance, however, this is not the case, and you fully deserve to cop an earful from up and coming producers as well as everyone else.

Let me put it this way....I assume One Eyed Jack productions are only working with tried and tested girls and studs that they have previously used before and will never be using any new talent? After all, you've no idea who you are going to be working with really...that hot blonde could be an axe murderer for all you know! Be safe, don't work with people you've never worked with before! After all, what's good for the goose is good for the gander, is it not?

Whilst I applaud and appreciate the intent of your post, I think your suggestion is unworkable, overly simplistic, and frankly insulting to producers on the way up.

Just my two pennies worth.

porn snuff death - yahoo!

this seems to have more detail (what a sensational heading -Ambition and death in porn's underworld)

$800 or $900 (her payment)? the story has slight shifts - draped in the photographers blue curtain or is it drapes that were similiar to photographers (in general)

This is all still - allegedly of course.

i havent yet read the post on adult dvd talk but reguardless i think now is a good time to remind models of safety.

i have heard from a few models recently about there movements and they cause me concern - altho not to the concern of the model putting themselves in those situations.

always let someone know where u are going and when u will return.

Let our thoughts be with the family first of all as this was a loss of a loved daughter.

http://www.nbc6.net/slideshow/2946357/d ... ;s=8;w=240

But there is also a bigger issue. As porn is becoming mainstream in the US it is attracting girls into the industry as a means to money and fame. It is no longer looked down upon. And like anything that offers such rewards and stardom you are always going to get people that are willing to take risks in hope that they can persue in the career and get to the top. For the people who dont make it they either get out or turn to more extreme avenues. This all plays into the hands of amatuer photographers as they can lure the girls with promises and all sorts of deceptive measures. I am not saying that all amatuer men are murderers in the making. But how many of you men would rather put your daughter in a licensed cab at the end of the night as apposed to an unlicensed one.

Anyone can set themselfs up to be a camerman that is looking for models to appear in a hot movie on the net and lure them in with a nice money incentive. The name behind the email you are replying too could be a child offender, a rapist, or a murderer.

This also applys to escorts that do outcall services. 99% of the time they have no idea who the client is and all they have is an address.

The measures that some women are prepared to take to get work can very well put their lives in danger. Make sure you have all your serurity checks in place and feel 100% sure about the job.

Saying that it is a sad fact that there will always be some that dont take the precautions and sadly become victims.

Lets hope her killers receive the max penalty the US system can punish them with. As a young girls life was sadly taken and that is the bottom line.

Yes and no. Bad things happen. Men are statistically far more likely to perpetrate a violent crime than women. They are also statistically more likely to be victims of a violent crime than women. Obviously sex-related crime (at least as it is reported) is a different matter, but the fact is that it's not endemic in the porn industry (more so, admittedly, amongst prostitutes and rent boys as Jack the Ripper, Denis Nielsen and hundreds since have made infamous). The guy I used to regularly perform with as a duo at local music open nights (I sang, he played guitar) was recently convicted of one of the most horrific sex crimes of recent times. It turns out when I last duetted with him, the sick fucker had her dead body in a box. It upsets me to think that I was on stage with him at that time. He was a guitarist, she was a teacher - she, like most victims of violent sex crime, knew him. Neither worked in the porn industry. Terrible though the Tyalor Summers case is, I imagine women in the porn industry are probably more sussed about the dangers of violent men than your average teacher, secretary, mechanic or company director. So yes, I think this is scaremongering. It's like the people who suddenly won't catch the tube 'cause they're frightened of Al Qaeda; despite the fact London has been bombed over a dozen times in the past 20 years - they were never scared before, not until the press started spinning this big fear thing. You are in danger of doing the same. Yes, be safe, male or female, whatever you do. But don't suddenly imagine there is an epidemic of attacks on porn actresses just because of one isolated, tragic though it no doubt is, case.

I think it's very sad that she seemed to have a feeling there was something not quite right about this guy herself and confided in other's she had concerns yet still went through with it despite feeling uneasy because she needed the money. It's one thing doing what you enjoy for the money - but having to go through with it when you are not enjoying it and even feel unsafe doing it, that's really tragic.

The main thing that annoyed me about your post was the stick to established producers line - everyone has to start somewhere so by suggesting and advocating that you are doing two things:

1) stopping new and upcoming producers (such as u were one day) from coming into the business therefore restricting consumer choice etc etc

2) assuring that all the girls in the business therefore go to the ten or so established and proven producers in the UK (yourself included) thereby lining your pockets with more money in the process

If the shit hit the fan I for one would stand up and be counted - again just because someone is a pro rather than an amateur doesnt make them more or less likely to be accountable for their actions or those of the industry they are in.

My main point being if this had come from a model or an agency or a normal punter I probably wouldnt have even commented but coming from you it just seems like you are using it to your advantage by, in effect, saying that all new girls should come to you or Ben or JM or whoever and not go to the amateurs and that to me is wrong
