though not having connections with the industry, may i suggest that there needs to be more than just the indigo clinic to provide the service to the industy.

its great for those living in london. but lots of you must live away from london.

clinics need to provide a v quick turn around of result or they won't be of much use.

the easier it is for workers in the industry to be suitable tested the quicker the industry standard can work and as importantly, be seen to work.

must also make it easier for the prodicers too.

I agree with Carl in ways maybe it's time things are looked at about using condoms and not doing bear back anymore even if they are tested every 30 days or 90 days there's stil is risk and do we want to put models at risks.
And speaking as a partner of someone in the business just remember the model has to do her scences but how hard would it be to come home and tell there partner they got something even though certs were update.
You could say it's playing russian roullete.I'm sure if america are playing safe with certs and condoms why aren't we ok it might not be what the clients want but hey there not putting there health on the line are they!!

Wearing condoms should be mandatory IMHO

Certificates obviously make it safer but its still not a 100% guarantee

I've watched porn with condoms involved and quite frankly couldn't really see why anyone would object.It hardly detracted from the action

Who knows if condoms were mandatory maybe more performers would enter the industry

so who are these vast numbers of porn buyers who would not buy if condoms were used???

The only American companies to use condoms are people like Vivid and Wicked. Just the companies that do features.
All the gonzo stuff 95% don't want to use condoms in their films.

Also like to point out look how much money is spent on health adverts to do with sex safe and i think models should be backing this up by practicing safe sex on set of movies no matter what certs they have.

In reference to Penn and Tellers bulls**t show on FXUK last monday going on about all these stupid gemics to enlarge your breast and penis with products like e.g pills enlarging pumps and even hipnostis they totally exposed this lot as total bulls**t and they said reason it sells is because of the image pornstars give out of larger breasts or bigger penis's and the general public wish to be the same.

If condoms had to be used in the industry by law maybe joe public might start to understand how dangerous it is not to practice safe sex. As porn movies do relected on peoples sex life and act accordingly.

i dont think emma is right when she says incubation period for H.I.V is 3 months. the way i understand it, you can infect another person as soon as you become infected yourself. the present tests need a minimum level of antibodies in the bloodstream to work and this takes around 10-12 weeks to become present.
the 3 months figure comes from the quality of the present test not your ability to infect another person.
an irish/american company has developed a test that can give a result in days if not hours of exposure recently and this will be aimed at health professionals who have accidently come in to contact with the virus. i expect when it eventually hits the market it will take over from the present test everywhere.
(i am not a medical professional and you should talk to one before making any decisions)

Pornography is about sex, not about protection or safe sex or clean sex or laboratory sex its about breaking a few normal rules. Its called fantasy. I understand the need for our Actors/actresses to keep heathy, and I think all who have worked with me and there is many would agree I do keep a clean shop. I don't go for the degrading stuff. But I don't like condoms on the set. If the actors are cool with it then fine I will use them.
I would prefer the system where they are all clear of disease and fu** like rabbits. I don't know how we cannot achieve that. Someone needs to tell me where these horrible vuruses get into our industry...Thats what I want to know...who has some theory's. I would not use anyone who has a STD but uses a condom.
In France where I work alot Canal + have some guidlines for using protection in films but the actors only stick to it when the need to. And the guidlines are stupid. If a boy & girl who have never met before the days shoot, play the part of a married couple then they do not have to use condoms. If a married couple play the parts in reverse they do. And most only put a condom on when its the close-ups or a clear shot that might show the condom. The rest of the time they don't wear one because they are all happy with the tests they all have.
To me and I did try to shoot a complete movie in UK with condoms so I have put my money where my mouth is, we need to identify in more detail where STD's come from and start there. Angel is bang on with the US companies only the biggest use condoms and I have been to their parties where the biggest names get pissed or worse and bang everyone for fun...so to my original issue if we want to be seen to be doing something then lets keep it real and not some false front.
Girls we live out peoples fantasy's on film they don't fantasize about putting a jonny on before they ball you, so it will never work. We need to do it real and dirty but with the knowlege we are all clean. If it means as a cast we all go to a clinic together then live in the same room till the results are in and then only bang each other I would prefer to work like that and feel safer.

Just thought id add 2 this post & say Yes i fully agree with Angel Long & Phil on this matter.

I have always got tested every month & perhaps by doin so i have managed 2 excape all std's gladly.

Yes its true there is a 3 month incubine period for H.I.V but there isnt for STD & that is the ones that r causing the problems, so go get checked every month i dont c what the problem is.

It was great reading your mixed wearing views wearing & not wearing condoms, everybody as their own idea's on health issues.
I do disagree that films with condoms don't sell, i am talking about the amateur scene which seem to be more aware in some things. What i mean be this is we are mostly all swingers & know even with a HIV certificates it dont mean that person is 100% safe & this is why we use condoms, swingers meet people or make films for fun & different to Pro models who do this for earning money & are caught in a catch 22 postion of not getting work unless they do it bareback. Its handy for us amateur film makers as there is always new people & not the same faces for us to work with because we come across less scary than the big companies & let the models/people be theirselves so we catch real sex & not acted sex.
At the end of the day a person should do what their comfortable with & think at the end of the day it's only a film & think of their own & their partners health first, i don't mean to offend anyone by these comments but now amateur as got a firm foot in the industry condoms will be seen more & more so this should stop the condom stigma within the next couple of years.
